Deuteronomy 8:18 – “You shall remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you power to get wealth, that he may confirm his covenant that he swore to your fathers, as it is this day.” enslaved

Are you stuck trying to make a financial decision?

Sending your child to an expensive school sounds like a great idea. So does buying a house, replacing your rusty car and going on a vacation. These are exciting and seemingly good ways to spend your money, but how do you know when it’s the right time to do these things?

It’s simple. Just Ask God! He knows if a school is a good fit for your kids. He also knows that you will be moving in three months, so you should wait to purchase a house. God realizes your car has left you stranded many times and He has a new vehicle waiting for you. What’s the point? You must wait for God’s timing or you may regret the tuition and down payment later.

Do you believe that God can help you make money?

Then trust him and let Him guide your steps to become a good sower of seeds. He knows how to prevent your business from failing and what’s best for your kids. We live in a “need it now” society and it’s so easy to justify charging shoes and clothes on sale. It’s easy to go out to dinner with friends every night when you know you can’t afford it. God doesn’t get us into these financial binds – He actually wants to do just the opposite for us! This brings a key Bible verse to mind:

1 Corinthians 6:12 “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be enslaved by anything.””

If you are tied to a credit card payment you despise, then this has enslaved you. This can hinder you for years to come and God has seen this happen many times and hates seeing His children suffer. Consider whether your purchase is based on God’s timing. Material possessions are not wrong, but they can become consuming.

Remember, God wants the best for you, so start asking Him in faith to reveal His will for your life – start small and go big!
